Robert Zitz is President of Robert Zitz & Associates, LLC, where he advises companies and U.S. government agencies on defense, intelligence, and homeland security missions. With over 40 years of experience in both government and industry, he is widely recognized for his visionary leadership and deep technical expertise, particularly in GEOINT, intelligence satellites, Multi-Int, and open-source analytics. Zitz began his career as an intelligence analyst and rose to senior executive service (SES-6) and Deputy Under Secretary, with roles spanning Army Intelligence, CIA, NGA, DHS, Secret Service, and NRO. In industry, he served as Senior Vice President at SAIC, Leidos, and Maxar Technologies, leading strategy, government relations, and business development from 2011 to 2019.

In his government service, Zitz held several senior leadership roles. At the NRO (2009–2011), he directed a global team delivering advanced technology solutions. At the Secret Service (2007–2009), he led transformation efforts and secured major budget increases. As Deputy Under Secretary at DHS (2006–2007), he managed $3 billion in programs and led efforts in cybersecurity, infrastructure protection, and emergency preparedness. He also played a key role in establishing the National Computer Forensics Institute and advancing geospatial intelligence across DHS. Earlier, as R&D lead at NGA (2001–2005), Zitz was a pioneer of Multi-Int fusion, fundamentally reshaping how intelligence is collected and analyzed. Prior to that, he served in key analytical and counterterrorism support roles, including for the Army’s Delta Force.
