Lenny Low

Lenny Low has over 30 years of experience in the satellite industry, holding roles across engineering, management, and business development. He is currently the Chief Engineer, Space Systems at Axta Space, where he focuses on space-based optical communications systems. Prior to this, he served as Vice President, Space Segment at SpaceLink, where he led the architecture and implementation of a four-satellite MEO constellation. His work there encompassed all technical aspects of the satellite platform and optical payload. Before SpaceLink, Lenny spent 27 years at Space Systems Loral (now Maxar Technologies), serving as Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. In that role, he shaped market strategy and spacecraft platform architecture across LEO, MEO, and GEO domains, building partnerships and delivering innovative platform solutions for commercial, government, and civil clients.

Earlier in his career at SSL, Mr. Low was Executive Director of the Spacecraft Platform Operations Directorate, where he led a team of 600 and delivered over 30 spacecraft. His leadership spanned the full lifecycle of spacecraft development—from R&D to on-orbit support—and included responsibility for factory operations, supply chain management, and cross-functional collaboration. Before SSL, he worked as an engineering analyst at Lockheed Missiles and Space and TRW. Lenny holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree from Stanford, both in Mechanical Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in California and holds eight satellite-related patents. He splits his time between Dallas and the San Francisco Bay Area.
